The flag "Cross Colors" was created for an outdoor project at various locations in New York City, during Performa 13. The idea was inspired by universal citizenship, or conversely, non-citizenship. Made from the full spectrum of values, it represents a community that accepts all equally. At the same time the colors of the flag are processed and dissolved into patterns, making its iconography difficult to recognize and identify with. This non- classification is the galvanizing force that brings the citizens together.
